Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno In the Works

Dana White wastes little time when he’s in a bind. Reports surfaced early on Sunday morning that Petr Yan would no longer be able to defend his bantamweight title against Aljamain Sterling on December 12th. This left everyone in the MMA world wondering what fight might become the new main event of a PPV that is under three weeks away.

Never fear though, as Uncle Dana had a plan. He announced after UFC 255 that he would like for Deiveson Figueiredo to face Brandon Moreno next for the UFC Flyweight Championship. Little did fans know, Dana wasn’t meaning next year.

Rumors began to appear later on that Dana was actually targeting December 12th as the date for this epic clash. Many people were curious as to why the fight was getting made so quickly, as both men had just fought the night before. When the news broke that the Yan-Sterling fight had officially been postponed, the quick turnaround for Figueiredo and Moreno made perfect sense.

What better way to save a PPV than with two guys that just came off of impressive wins that fans are still buzzing about? Figueiredo just made his first flyweight title defense in a dominant performance, defeating Alex Perez by guillotine in just under two minutes. Brandon Moreno put in an impressive showing himself, defeating Brandon Royval just one second before the end of the first round. This is a fight that everyone wants to see.

Will this fight become official?!
